RemMedy is a project by 70six, based in Germany. No VC backers, no data brokers, no vanity growth metrics – just an app that reliably reminds you to take your medication.
Why RemMedy exists
Many medication apps require an account, upload health data to the cloud, and build their monetization on subscription models that periodically strip features out of the free tier. For people living with a chronic condition, that's the wrong direction: the app is part of a daily routine, not a marketing channel.
We built RemMedy because we wanted an app that works offline, doesn't hand data to third parties, and charges a fair price. An app you install and then leave alone.
Who is behind RemMedy
RemMedy is one of the projects of 70six, a small software studio based in Germany. Development, design, server operations, and support all happen in the same hands – we don't pipe support requests to an external call center.
Our business model
RemMedy is funded by a one-time Premium purchase (€6.99), no subscription, no ads, no data selling. The free tier stays usable forever (2 medications, 2 measurement types, 30-day history). Anyone using the app seriously can try Premium free for 7 days and then buy once. After that, it's quiet – no monthly bill, no auto-renewal.
How we handle health data
All medication and measurement data is stored in a local Android database (Room / SQLite) on your device. There is no server-side where it's transferred. RemMedy does not use ads, advertising identifiers, or advertising networks.
For backups and device migration we provide CSV and Core JSON export and import (Android ↔ iOS compatible). Export is manual and stays on your device until you share it.
What we use technically
- Kotlin + Jetpack Compose for the Android app, with Material 3 for the UI.
- AlarmManager + WorkManager for exact reminders, independent of Google services.
- Room / SQLite as the local database – no cloud dependency.
- Hilt for dependency injection, Navigation Compose for routing.
- Wear OS module as a separate companion app – works even without the phone app installed (bridged notifications).
